As I enter my mew "sunset career" after 30 years in government, I am both afraid and excited, as I will be providing assistance/ guidance to adults with developmental disabilities. I've never done such work and masters degrees are not even in this realm.
And yet, something feels "magical" about it. And the pay ... Oh boy. I haven't made such a small hourly wage like this in over 35 years.
Despite all this ... There is still a pull in this direction ... To be a selfless service to others.
Your words confirmed for me that I am on a path of the unknown, yet my heart & soul seems to " know" where I am going.
This resonates for me. I can see the child-like tendency to want obvious answers from the unseen in myself. At times, I will get a rash of synchronicities which really get my attention, but it makes sense that we can learn to hone our quality of attention to subtle callings. It's a participatory reality we live in. What luck! What sacred luck!
Magic is natural and even usual, but only to those who are willing to meet it halfway. This reminded me of “The Way of the Wizard”. By Deepak Chopra. “You cannot bring the same stale self to the world and expect the world to be new for you.” - Merlin
Gosh yes... This is how I see magic I think, but had not found the words to explain it... Very much there in the everyday if only we pay it attention and let it guide us... First we must slow down and listen to the whispers on the wind.
